THIS IS OUR STORY
For those friends
who may be learning about this for the first time, our son Andrew was
recently diagnosed with a rare aggressive bone cancer called Ewing's
Sarcoma. It started off in the fall with some leg pain. We took him to
the ER to see if maybe he had a stress fracture and found nothing. This
continued on and off with several pediatrician visits treating his pain
for shin splints. We finally went to a wonderful Orthopedist, Dr. Dan
at Commonwealth to discover his right tibia bone was swollen. Not a
good sign. After many MRI's ,CT scans, a needle biopsy, a surgical
biopsy, spinal taps and blood work, the diagnosis was Ewing's Sarcoma.
Slightly relieved to have some direction, we then learned the cancer
had spread to his skull, ribs and hips. Thankfully they did
